Swish & Dish Crowns Local Champion

The 2010 Swish & Dish Spring Warm-Up was played over the weekend and the top two divisions went to the Milwaukee Spartans in the 17-Under Platinum division and the Kingdom Hoops in the 16-Under Platinum division over the weekend in Milwaukee.

In the 17-Under Championship, the Milwaukee Spartans came from behind to win a 59-58 decision over the Mac Irvin Fire as 6-foot-5 Quevyn Winters hit a 10-foot runner with less than two seconds to play to seal the win. Winters, from Wilwaukee, Wisc., led the Spartans with 17 points.

The Fire played the title game without Wayne Blackshear and Sam Thompson, but without excuses the Spartans more than held their own against some of the nation's best this weekend.

In the 16-Under Championship, Peter Jok, a 6-5 Class of 2013 prospect from Des Moines, Iowa, scored 11 of his 14 points in the second half to lead Kingdom Hoops to a 58-51 victory over All-Ohio Red.
